Updates to Google’s Quality Score – Coming Next Week

Google has just announced new updates to their quality score:

Google Quality Score Updates

I’m excited about these updates since they are now providing some transparency into Quality Score (Maybe pressure from Yahoo’s new Panama releases Quality Score visibility?) Before this new feature, you had to basically guess on how well you are doing by checking on your minimum bid (the lower your min bid, the better).  Now Google will give you feedback by a 3 point scale (Great, OK, and Poor) – I know it’s only three levels, but it’s a start.

Also, I noticed that Google will have lower minimum bids on keywords with little history – What is the significance?  Well, it’s great for those of us who have been focused on “long tail words” – We should expect lower minimum bids.
